Default Any feedback on accel injctors?

1985, 92k miles, K&N air filter, 52mm BBK, 4+3, no engine mods (yet), Stock exhaust (2b axed)

Are replacement accel injectors going to give any noticable gain when only upgrading the stock TB unit (BBK 52mm) and exhaust upgrade (undecided on type, but not too radical). It's an everyday driver that must remain emissions friendly. If anybody has an opinion (which I'm sure you do!) on what combo (exhaust/injectors) might work best I'm all ears.

I wouldn't think that replacement fuel injectors would make any difference, unless your current ones are clogged or have other issues (e.g. bad coils).

Assuming your current injectors are just fine, I'd probably suggest getting an AFPR instead, it's cheaper than new injectors and you can tune your WOT air/fuel mixture with that.

Replacing injectors makes very little difference unless something is really wrong with the ones you have.

And I would still stay away from Accels, get the Ford SVO #24s.

I have heard that stock 20-22 lb injectors are good for up to 450 hp..
I have heard this often and wonder why guys with stock L98's want to go
to 24 pounders.. Why not get the stock ones and throw an afpr on it to
play with it...wouldnt that be easier (assuming no mods in the future)?

Yes. The original injectors have 92k miles on them and need 2b replaced. Future mods include an LT1 cam, cat elimination and exhaust, and a chip.

Mods of the future is exactly why I got the 24's. Just leaned it out a tad with the afpr until then. But now I know I can have the fuel there if I need it. Like with the N20 kit I'm thinking of installing for example. Better to run pig rich with n20 than lean.
That being said I agree with the others in that unless your having injector problems you will not see signifigant gains worthy of making the change.

I would not recommend Accel's!

I had two failures (internally shorted), one damaged a cylinder by overrich condition. All in only 12,000 miles or so.

I switched to Racetronix sourced Delphi's. So far they have worked like a stock set-no hard starts, smoother operation, etc.

Great price too.
