Who's added a superram?

More specifically if you have added a superram to your car I would be interested as to what if any difficulties you ran into. Iam thinking of adding this to my mostly stock engine right now.
I have already heard from a couple of you, just making sure I haven't overlooked something.
thanks
jeff
Woke the car right up.
Search the forum for 'superram' to read up on the modifications for easier installation and removal, and other info you might need.

When you say upper and lower intake, what are you referring to?
the runners and upper plenum (the big pizzabox thing)?
did you also change the stock intake manifold to something else? I know LPE makes a Bigmouth Manifold....but its like $$$ that I just can't afford.
The "lower" intake refers to the base manifold....the "upper" means the runners and plenum. BOTH work in concert with each other as far as the intake as an assembly. BUT this intake will work much better if you trash the stock cam and get something 2 steps higher in duration and much higher in lift ( lift = torque = power)...enter the LPE 219 cam for your L98. Also 1.6RR's to bump up that lift even higher to the .560" range. You have full exhaust mods, right? Critical! (starting with long tube headers). How about your cylinder heads? You can wait on the heads, but if you're changing your intake, make full advantage of this by swapping the cam. How much mileage on your vette? After about 60,000-80,000 miles you should most assuredly get new lifters. Water pump changeout. Oil pump changeout. Oh boy we're just getting started!
Also you'll defintiely want your chiop re-flashed...again. With the onslaught of added air, you'll run the risk of possibly running a tad lean.
Next month I'll be finishing up the entire deal by putting on the Supperram "upper" kit. With the LPE Accel LTR's + ported stock plenum, there's MOREcthan plenty of enough torque and fun as it stands (WAY TON ton more than stock with this current setup)

In order to get the most benefit from the superram, you're going to need to get the manifold, too. It will help with just the superram and runners, but you're going to gain a lot more with the base.

yeah, sorry I didn't specify.I am using an accel loewr intake and the LPE superram plenum/runners together. Without the high-flow (Accel/edelbrock or TPIS) lower intake manifold you would be wasting $$ putting the superram plenum/runners on.
Although it is true, to get the best/most out of your car you will need a better cam than stock, I am still using the stock '85 cam and the car ran very low 12's with a slipping tranny.
Other than the Heads, the superram and the longtube headers were the best performance upgrades I've done on the car. (I went 13.3's with stock exhaust, superram and bolt ons)..
There is a tonn of info on superram related stuff on this forum and the thirdgen.org forum.
