There is a mfg who makes carb legal long tubes, and the fitment is listed as "chevrolet passenger vehicles" for some really long span of years. They probably won't fit the vette, but some vette specific headers with that eo number welded on probably would.
CA's website has a page showing all the EO numbers if you dig around for it.

Also, I believe the TPI camaros have a smog legal long tube. Ridiculouss isn't it? It has nothing to do with cat placement. It's sad really. My 85 doesn't have precats from the factory. If you unbolted my exhaust system and put it on an 86 (with the same motor btw), then it would suddenly fail the smog visual.

I have questioned the logic of the precats for a long time...

My last inspection, the tech didn't even pop the hood until after the test, and that was just to b.s. about the TPI since he had a firebird at home. For the visual part of the test, he just pressed the "OK" button over and over again.
