No problem with fitment. I do suggest you make sure the converter will slip on y-pipe before you install it. Also do not tighten the header bolts until the y-pipe is installed. Very tight fit. Drivers side went in pretty easy and the passanger did after I lowered the starter. Hope this helps.
How does the TPiS headers affect spark plug changing? The advertise easer changing, is this your experience?
I have the TPIS longtubes on my LT4, I don't know if plugs are easier to change...but it still not too hard. The rear passenger side plug can be a bit of a pain. If I had to do it again I'd get the Exotic Muscle headers, they have a better fir and finish to them IMO.
I also have TPIS long tube headers with the Jet Hot coating. I have been running them for about 5 years now. They were are a great compliment to the rest of the modifications to my engine (see sig.).
The coating seems to be holding up fine.
Fit and installations is ok. I have AFR heads and the no. 7 plug was very close to the no. 7 header tube, too close. This required some dimpling to improve clearance, per TPIS recommendation. I also had to file the flange bolt holes for the no. 1 exhaust port as they did not align properly, it was just a small amount of filing. The y-pipe required some cutting and re-welding to get the center section of the exhaust to be centered under the car.
Hookers 2149, great fit. I'm using their Y pipe as well. I did not have any problems with this part, although I've heard some others had fitment issues with A4s.
