Default Throttle body question

Last week a had a 52mm throttle body installed (and against the advice of most forum members) had one of those Vortex cold air induction deals installed. Boy, talk about an increase in throttle response! Even chirps the tires in second gear (A4). I have 2 questions. 1) Did I really gain any HP? and 2) Why did the car come with 52 mm intake ports but only a 48mm TB?

Sounds like you have a much more responsive throttle... as opposed to actually gaining horsepower... which I'm told is the biggest advantage of putting on a (new) 52/58MM TB

thats weird, most all the archives here i've read pretty much say the same: going to a larger Tb will DECREASE throttle resolution, ie, bog down more, when tipping off-idle.

My experience was less throttle response as well... It will be interesting to see if your ECM once it reajusts gives you the same results a month from now....

Don't feel bad, I've read it both ways on here too. I wish y'all would get it figured out once and for all so I'd know if I have the best one for my combo!

Every engine is differen't ,now the big ? how cold outside is it right now and what is your mileage?
Remember an engine is just a big pump more air in more air out.
I ported my throttle body and added the air foil.
Not that much more HP but the throttle responds is alot better.
