Have you some part#?
For what I remember Edelbrock heads are with bigger combustion chambers 68cc or 74 cc compared to stock 113 heads (58cc). You will loose a good amount of compression ratio.

I just bought a set, 64 cc, and from what I read I should go from 9.5 to just over 10 on a 85. Randy

I had taken my AFR 210's to a local cylinder head/performance shop for some minor maintenance. I asked the guys there for recommendations on cyl heads and which ones to avoid.
They mention to have seen xlnt performance from canfield's, some brodix', AJPE's, and that my AFR's were just "ok".
The only one they told me to avoid were edelbrocks.
I know they work with all kinds of heads day in day out and work on the flow bench, so maybe they might be onto something. ???

Why are you ditching the stock D113's?

Yes, but bjcenter has a 90 with stock 113 heads that are 58cc combustion chambers.

Perhaps you could elaborate on why the perf shop
does not like Edelbrock. My suspicion is,
the shop's [told to customers] opinion of stuff it doesn't sell is:
that stuff is no good.

I wouldnt use Edelbrocks over the stock head in 90, just have the 90's heads ported.

Edelbrock heads are usually too close to them in terms of size to justify the expense. Unless youre picking one of the really big edelbrocks, like 210-220cc heads, which are probably too big for you anyway.

Edelbrock has improved a little over the years, but their heads aren't much of an improvement over stock. They're just now catching on to combustion chamber design.Just my opinion. Port the 113s
