Advice on diagnostic tools
I am looking for advice on a diagnostic tool for my 1985 Vette and 1986 IROC. Both have TPI systems. I am looking for a tool that will do more than just read the trouble codes, I can already do that using the SES light. I am looking for something that will ready and display data from the various ECM engine sensors and the various ECM outputs. I know of the Diacom software but that seems a little pricey. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ease is what I use, it would have no trouble scaning both your vehicles. It runs about 320$ plus you need a lap top, here's there site http://www.obd2.com/

If these are both the 165 ECM. Try moates ecm852. Moates.net (Free) or TTS datamaster they allow 20 uses. TTS datamaster
