Default Final performance question.....Intake..

So I am narrowing down my choices for headers and intake. This is an intake question.

I am leaning to the LPE super ram. Anthing I need to know before getting started.

Also, a friend warned me that snapping bolts on the intake manifold is not uncommon when trying to get them out of the heads. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks again!

It's not likely that you will snap either intake or exhaust bolts getting them out of Al heads. If you have iron heads hit the bolts with some PB Blaster the night before.

Allow me to be stupid. The last CSB I built was in my 74 C3. I knew exactly what I was dealing with. However, in this case I'm learning.

So, at the risk of sounding like an idiot......1990 L98 has aluminum heads, right?!

Yes you have the D-port #113 Al heads so, though the intake bolts may be a little tight (they have Permatex #2 on the threads) they should not break off upon removal.

They are only torqued to 35 lbs, they should not break.
