Default 92 Alt plug replace ??

I was replacing my valve covers and broke the plastic plug that goes into the alternator. Can this plug be replaced? Where would you get one besides a junkyard?

Yeah mine just kind of fell apart in my hands when I pull it out last week. The one on mine is a three wire that plugs into the lower side of the Alt. I will be going over to the dealership tonight to find out if I can get one that just has some short leads off it that I can splice into the harness.
I'll let you know what they say tonight when I get home.
Is this the same one that you need? (three wire)

Yeah mine on my 92 broke also. What broke on mine is on the alternator itself, so uless I want to buy a new one, its gonna be that way. I justmake sure its snugly fit on there and it hasn't given me any trouble sofar.

Gotta love 12 year old plastic don't ya? Ecklers actually has a pretty good selection of repair connectors that I've used some of. Most of them come with new pins and all but I've found you don't usually even need those. I've repaired several by just carefully removing the pins from the old plastic housing and putting them back into the new housing.

BTW, wait till you go to remove the positive lead from the alternator and the stud turns inside the alternator housing! Then you get to take the thing apart and tighten that lug back up, then figure out how to put it back together.

It's really not hard to do, just annoying. You've got to use a neat little trick on the brushes too but overall it's not too bad.

Yeah that stuff can be pretty expensive but sometimes it's worth it.

Yep, that's what it looks like, but I think it has 3 wires, 1 large and 2 smaller ones.
