Default Just installed Cross-Frame!

It took a litte tweaking to get around my 3" exhaust (nothing a few whacks with a hammer and rotating a couple of clamps couldn't take care of), but what a difference! The car feels so much more solid. Working in conjunction with the camber-brace, the car is incredibly tight. No shakes or rattles, in fact the car now just "thuds" through potholes. I haven't tried taking the top out yet, but I think it will make a tremendous difference. I'd highly recommend this product! Nice work Dave.

What brand is your 3" exhaust ? I have the cross brace sitting in my garage waiting to be installed, but I'll have to wait until the spring. I'm also considering the B&B 3" exhaust and was wondering about any possible interference with the cross frame. Did you just dent the cross frame to gain the necessary clearance?

The ride didn't change at all actually. It just feels more "solid," not as much vibration or shaking when you hit a bump, and the car definitely seems to respond to steering wheel input much quicker. Again, I also have the camber-brace so that helps a bit too, but overall, the car feels more connected than before. BTW, my car is a '96 with just over 40K on it and very "babied." Obviously your car may respond differently depending on the condition of bushings, shocks, etc....

I have the Borla setup to stock manifolds on an LT4. The clamp on the passenger side and both clamps to the resonator had to be rotated a little bit, but nothing difficult. The only place that hit the bar is where the driver's side bracket is welded on to the pipe just forward of the resonator. Even then it was only about a 1/4 of inch I needed to clear. I took a couple of whacks at the bar with a hammer and that gave me enough clearance. The install is pretty simple. I screwed up drilling one of the holes and that took me a little while to resolve, but once you get the car up and take care of any clearance issues, the install shouldn't take more than an a couple of hours. BTW, if you don't have one, make sure you've got a good, hardened steel drill bit. I chewed a standard bit up trying to get through the frame.
