Default LS1 Conversion?

Has anyone here, or anyone know of someone who has swapped a LS1 into a C4?

It's been done, but I forget who.

I've been thinking about it, but no cash right now.

it can be done - some issues:

1) The engine is not dimentionally compatible with the SBC. Requires special motor mounts.

2) There is no way to fit the ZF6 to it. However, the T56 can be adapted to fit, but it requires much customization.

It will not be a cheap conversion... not much change from $5000.00.

A C-4 (85-88) showed up this weekend at an autocross in Anderson SC that had a LS1 engine. The installation was made by the Carolina Rod Shop in Greenville SC. If you want me to will get you a contact number.

Not that I could afford it right now, but I'd be curious to know-especially w/the wiring. Those LS1's run hard stock and make some stupid amounts of power w/mods. Best part is, they are getting cheaper and cheaper. I'll take a 6.0, please!

Wouldn't it be cheaper and better to just buy a C5? But if you're like most of us, and you like the lines on a C4, then go with a built LT1/4.

This will answer a lot of your questions. While it may geared to F-body much of the info will be the same.
