Lt1 into my 90?
I Understand that the motor will bolt in with all accesories to the engine bay. Also that I have to change the wiring and ECU (thats a good thing cause my wiring is falling apart and my ECU has a hole in it
) Will the 94's computer correctly operate my gauges? Rad hoses will be different, what about bolting it to my 6 speed? I am unsure what tranny is in the 94 right now. What else is involved?? what am I forgetting?
Oh and yes I read enough of the archived post to realize that I will be told just to fix my L98 up
1. You need an LT1 harness and a OBDI ECM (Preferably a corvette harness and a 94/95 F-body ECM) and the harness will need to be wired for 4 wire hook up. I did it myself but you can get it done at Jims performance as well for $200 http://www.jimsperformance.com/carty3.html
2. Get a corvette LT1 assy bracket and assy's (you can use an F-body P/S pump and alt but it takes some work)
3. Not sure about your radiator but I had to add a steam vent to the 84, if you have the remote mount resv, then it will just be a T in the line.
4. You will need the ECM Vats disabled, emmisions are up to you I did away with them because it looked to be a big hassel (contact Ion madz28, he is one of the best LT1 mail order tuners out there)tuner@madz28.com http://www.madz28.com/
5. The 94 has the ZF6 so you should be fine, hell I bolted it to a 700R4
6. Guages are a snap, Just use your stock sensors, Oil presure, temp, and oil temp and use the LT1 coolant sensor in the WP for the ECM. The VSS signal will need to be sent to and from the new ECM if that is the way your car is currently running.
Well thats about all I can think of for now
