I have a 93 LT1 Coupe withthe automatic transmission (RPO MD8). My problem is it is upshifting about 600 RPM early. Can I adjust something externally like a cable to improve the shift points?? If so where is it located and what is the procedure to make the adjustment. Thanks in advance for your help.
The TV cable has little effect in the shift points. It's purpose is to control the line pressure inside the trans for the throttle pressure. Adjusting the TV cable to make it feel the way you want, can easily wipe out the trans. Set it to spec, and leave it alone. You can tailor shift points by playing with the governor. B&M sells a governor recalibration kit with weights and springs, for just that purpose.

My 93 LT1 shifts @ 5000. I'd say your OK, but I swear my 92 LT1 shifted @ 5500. It's been 10 years since I owned the 92 so I can't remember. To raise your shift points either shift manually or trim your governor weights.
Mine upshifts (WOT) at about 5200 and idles at 850 thats according to my EASE scan tool. My TACH shows the WOT shift at about 5800 and idle at 1000.
I dont trust the tach
My 93 shifts at 5700-5800 at full throttle. I would buy a new gov. for the 93 corvette if mine was off and I was trying to get it to factory specs. Also check the TV cable but you do it with a torque wrench, not like the earlier c-4.
