article in fall 2001 camaro perfomers has them replacing t56 with 200r4 in an f car for more reliability at the strip (go figure). if they can put one in an f car, i sure hope it's been done on a c-4.
The 200R4 was made with two different bell housings. One with just the corporate bolt pattern and one with both the Chevy and corporate bolt patterns. The drawback for putting it in a C4 would be the rear mount. I see no way of bolting the C beam to the tranny. The 200R4 doesn't have a removable tail housing if I remember correctly, so it couldn't changed to something compatable with a C4.

For drag racing, the term "relabilty" = "repeatability".
thanks, just looking at any options for 700r4. looks like rebuild time. thought with better gear spacing and better internals, 200r4 should be considered.
I considered a 2004R before having my 700R4 done. I've installed a TH400 in a C4, but like a previous reply said the tailshaft is removable on most trans but not the 2004R. I could see a special mount being fabricated up to the C-beam, it would take some time but it would be worth it because the 2004R can be built much stronger than the 700R4.Also has a better gear spread. Good Luck!
