Anyone Recommend What Stall I Can Go With For My 84 C4 ... I Want More Top End Speed ... And Attain Still Most Of The Torque ... I Know I Will Lose Some Torque ... But If It Means I Can Reach High Speeds ... I'm Willing To Go With It ... Anyone?
I would go with a vigalant TQ converter if you call them they will give you the right stall for your mods and correct stall.
They have a 2 year warranty and will change the stall free one time for you.
The higher the stall the more torque it robs?? Thats not right??
YES! That is NOT right. The whole purpose of a higher stall converter is to increase the rpms at launch the get the engine INTO the torque or power range. Once the rpms exceed the so called stall rating, it has no effect. Therefore high, and top speed, are unaffected. I have a 2600 rpm stall Vigilanti in my nearly stock, '84. It reduced my 1/4 mile ETs, drastically. If quick launches and 1/4 mile times are not your interest, you will be wasting your money on a converter.

stall converters wont rob the torque, and in fact they tend to show up as something odd on a dyno graph, usually they cause the torque readings on a dynojet to be higher than it should be
