Default hp gain

What would be the hp gain if any by swapping out just the mufflers with free flowing ones? Thanks Mark

I can not tell you what the exact HP gain is for just mufflers... but I did Hooker AeroChambers and noticed a difference on the butt-o-meter. I believe it was Magnaflow exhaust that said the mufflers were the only restrictive part of the C4 exhaust... so that was the only thing I replaced.

I wouldn't expect too much, but you'll probably get a little.

I cut out my resonator and went with an X-pipe, and I have the Borlas on. I noticed some hp gain, but not what the aftermarket manufactures quote, but it sounds quite a bit better!

Should sound a lot better. Depends on which ones etc. I would not expect a real big gain. Go for it. Good Luck

depends what year your talking about...

I would say the earlier the C4, the greater the gain by switching to performance mufflers.

maybe somewhere from a 10 to 15 hp gain? just a guess

what muffler are you planning to go with? You are kind of restricted to size in the space you have to work with... my tips stick out about an inch from the stock location now... but I think it looks pretty cool. Make sure you get the right measurements so you don't end up with the 'ricer' look.

I'm confused on how you came to that conclusion when the original question asked hp gains with "just mufflers"? That is a good price so by all means get the Borla!!! I just want to add that I have $120 wrapped up in 2 Hooker Aerochambers and I think they will flow just as good.

Either way, I don't want you to think I'm criticizing your choice... I'm just confused... it happens a lot.

Cris,It was a bit confusing,I guess the question is would you get any more hp going with a 2 1/2 cat back system rather than just changing out the mufflers i think the original system is 2 1/4
