I feel you pain 3 Optis in less then a month. If you are getting a code it usaly indicates the optical section has wen't south so a cap/rotor/Delteq/LTCC will not help. I just posted last night (Santa got me) about the second Opti taking a dive and just finished replacing it today. Before my latest run of bad Optis I never had a single optical failure but the last two where both the optical sensor and the Delteq didn't help a bit. I was getting code 16 (low res singnal) and code 42 (EST). Replaced the Opti and all codes are now gone and it runs like a champ. I am geting prety fast swaped the whole thing in about 1.5 hrs. Pull the air cleaner, six bolts for the water pump, 3 for the A/C acumulator ( Dont have to do this one but it sure gives you a lot more room up front when you can move it out of the way), 3 balancer bolts, and the opti bolts.

those are great, but, once you get a code, the optical part is busted.

Can you say "screwed"? Sucks, don't it?

I have the LTCC, same, but different. It uses the 8 LS1 coil packs. Works great.

The whole Opti thing is a poke and hope kind of deal. The Delteq/LTCC solution at least solves 1/2 the problems and make getting to the spark plug wires 100% better

NO QUESTION!!!!

And all things being equal, the optical part should last 120k miles...
