hey everyone i just purchased a 1990 corvette with a procharger supercharger installed and approximately 75,000 miles on the vehicle. anyway someone backed into my vehicle and i took it to the body shop to have the front bumper cover fixed and repainted. the vehicle ran great before it went to the body shop but when i picked the vehicle up it starts up fine and idles with no problem but when i press the accelerator hard the engines seems to have a slight misses and the car vibrates pretty bad with a noticeable loss in power. i left my car low on gas on purpose so that i could deter any joy riding incidents. when i picked the vehicle up the car was very low on fuel and didn't want to start. anyway, i figured i might have damaged the fuel pump by leaving the fuel so low so i replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter but this did not fix my problem. does anyone know what this could be?

I'd check the plugs and wires first. My car has done what you're explainaing before and after I swapped the plugs out it was as smooth as it should be...anyway, it's a good first place to start!
Also, I have heard stories on here that if you run the fuel too low, it can damage the pump. Check the pressure at the shrader valve and see if there is a fluctuation.
please tell me you recorded the mileage before you left!
Anytime I have to drop off my car with someone I don't know...i record the mileage, tell them I did so, and make them agree not to drive the car. They usually write "DO NOT DRIVE" right on the paper work...if they don't do that Im gone.
this is kinda out there, but i know two people who had that same problems when they got their cars back from a body shop.. the problem turned out to be overspray inside the MAF.. They replaced it, car ran fine again... One of the guys got the bodyshop to fork out the money to replace it.. Just a thought..
unfortunately i didn't check the mileage. i have an appointment with the chevrolet dealership next week to diagnose the problem. if it turns out the problem is negligence on the body shops behalf then i will confront them with the repair invoice. i appreciate the MAF advice, i didn't think about that
