I have the older E6GM in my car and it was pretty simple installation...
I needed just to replace the MAF to MAP...

It has the same connector as stock ECU...but you may have to chance some pins.

I've worked with HalTech's on non-Corvettes.
They were real easy to tune, but the one's I worked on were blank so you-do-it all the way.

But most aftermarket systems are like that.

I would be concerned with the fact that they're not a big name in the EFI world when compared to systems like FAST and Accel. There's something to be said for having a system that lots of other people have. There's good support on Turbobuick.com for the FAST system and some good info on ls1tech.com for the Gen7. Your other big name alternative to these 2 would be the new BigStuff3 unit. If all else fails with getting help on the net, you can atleast get tuning support from all 3 of these bigger name mfgs.

In addition, all of these 3 systems have had recent revisions. FAST just released the XFI unit, BigStuff3 is pretty much all new stuff, and Accel keeps adding features to the Gen7. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. You'll need the wiring harness to keep your guages working. You can look into a harness from http://www.fasttrackperformance.com. Mac makes one hell of a harness for these units.

Good luck,

Ron
