Default Q For rear coilover users

How often do you guys inspect the rear knuckle and that lower mount point? How many miles you got on those coilovers?

I keep hesitating to go coilover in the rear because of that single shear lower mount.

Thanks,
Jay

I look at mine almost once a week. Since I got my 4 post lift.
I've put about 5K miles on them

I was concerned about that also, so I looked into it.

The suspension gurus say that instantaneous peak stress loads on the shock mounts are higher from the shocks than any spring loads would ever be. If the shock mounting points are durable before coil-overs, they will be OK afterwards.

Some installation tips for max durability:
1) Inspect, preferably with dye penetrant, the rear control knuckle for micro-cracks.
2) Use new lower shock bolts, and preferably cryo-treat them.

I inspect the suspension every 6 months, spring and fall, along with other routine preventative maintenance. That has been plenty.
