I have an 88 - C4 - L98. I paid too much for it. Since I am a mechanic, right off the bat I pulled the engine out and built a new one. I installed flat top piston, a mild cam, replaced most of the sensors, etc... Damn it runs good. I have been in here about 2 years and now know what is available and pricing pretty much, meaning I have wondered why I have a car I keep and continue to upgrade when I will never see the cash I am spending. I have gone thru some ups and downs, maybe sell, maybe not. Then those nice weekends come around and I hop in my vett, turn the stereo up, look at the pretty girls, and they look back. I love my corvette. Think I'll get an NOS system... Merry Christmas...

So, how much did you pay for it? I traded my 01 Honda Civic for an 89 C4 automatic. It was a dead even deal! No money involved. Free tax, tag/title registration. Anyways, I would keep it if I were you. Corvettes hold their value for a long time and start appreciating after a certain period of years. Hey, at least thats what I heard.
Ya gotta love them. They can be a bit exspensive at times but it's a peace of mind, an appreciation a pride and joy. I will bitch about buying a loaf of bread / little stuff like that but if there's something with the vette I'll drop $$ in a sec. and cuss a lilttle. When it's back and running I'm like a kid in a candy store with it. Smoke the tires, scream through the gears and hall *** ! Once that rush hits it's all smiles. If I were to ever get rid of it I'd probly trade up for a C-5 , but then again I'd like to have both a C-4 AND C-5. We will see.
I can feel the love. For a corvette that is. For alot of years I always wanted a corvette. There was always something to get in the way. Finally, about 3 years ago I said the hell with it and bought me a vette. It was everything I expected out of corvette. My dream come true. I'll never regret buying it either. It is so fun to drive.
I also have the love/hate thing for my vette. Sold my 73 'ray over it, here I am again. Regardless of what I have into it, I couldn't replace it for anything close in quality. Mine's an auto, and I'm a 6 spd. freak. I just remind myself why I bought it and all's good. Every time I pull the cover off and see that shiny dark red paint I realize I have a clean corvette; I should be so lucky! So what if it's not an LS1? I just get frustrated 'cause I'm working part time right now and can't afford to spend as I've been accustomed to, that's all.
