PCV And Breathers

I have a 86 Vette L98 and was wondering if its ok for me to take out the hoses for the PCV lines. There is one on the passenger side that connects between the throttle body and valve cover through a copper pipe, and one on the driver side that connects from the valve cover to the charcoal canister also goes into the intake. Is it ok for me to remove these lines and put in breathers and plug any leftover openings ??? Any info would be great.

My first question is, why? The "P" in pcv stands for positive. Back in the olden days, before pcv systems there was a "road draft tube" to help evacuate the crankcase at speed. It was pretty inefficient, and you won't even have that going for you. The breathers will prevent pressure build up, but do nothing for the circulation of blowby gases. Is it ok? I guess. It's your engine.

I simply want to clean up the look of my engine eliminating anything I can that I dont need. If its not a good Idea to remove these then I won't.
