The single vs two cylinder reservoir was just an attemt by GM to save $0.50 on the extra reservoir! Hey, 50 cents on 20,000 cars equals a lunch for the GM Top brass!

And I thought the 2 cylinders in my '88 meant my brake system was better than an '87.

85 has two reserviors (and 3 seperate brake circuits!) I'm not sure when GM switched back and forth. two reserviors give you more room for error, and make leaks easier to diagnose.
