i have no high gear. it shifts from 2nd to 3rd and nothing. it will freewheel up to about 4500 and kinda catches. Trans fluid isn't burnt, is full. Trans had 16k miles on it. the only part of the damn car i am totally clueless about, and thats what has to break

have the 3rd and fourth sevo checked.. it is located passenger side and can be removed without difficulty..this happen to me shortly after rebuild... replaced it with upgraded unit...It also has a high performance Superior overdrive billet servo with 50% more holding power than the stock overdrive servo. This servo gives a firmer 3-4 shift. check for servo info here

If you lost 3rd gear, you will have no 4th gear. The 3-4 clutches must come on to have 3rd, and then the 2-4 band coming on with the 3rd gear clutches applied will give you 4th gear. You have the common problem with this unit, 3-4 clutches are most likely gone. The Trans-Go (modified) Performance Shift kit & boost valves, (will give you the firm WOT shifts, & smooth part throttle shifts) & a improved 3-4 clutch pack, will give you a much better chance on a longer transmission life on your next rebuild. You do not need the oversize servos, they're overkill.
