Can anyone give me a heads-up on a reputable shop here in Dallas that will rebuild my engine and not try and shaft me on cheap parts or expensive labor?

You might talk to Wayne Calvert at Wayne Calvert Engines. They came highly recommended to me. He also does work for Bob Smith Coachworks in Gainesville. He's up in Denton on Dallas Drive.
