It is possible they will raise the car up to an inch, but only if the rest of the suspension components are really worn. (bushings especially) Certainly not above the stock original ride height, if thats what worries you.
I'd figure that my new ones didnt raise the car more than 1/16"
I don't see how it's possible for a shock change to raise the static ride height of a car a measureable amount.
A gas unit just can't exert sufficient upward force and a non-gas unit exerts NO upward force.
