Brake rotor hat covers
I have the C5 brakes on the front of my '92 C4.
I would like to get a set of matching brake rotor "hat" covers that will do the front C5 brakes and the rear '92 C4 brakes.
Do these exist?

Install these puppies and you add unsprung weight and hinder brake cooling at the same time....all in the quest to look pretty.
Just paint the unswept area of your rotors....works just as well.

Spoken like a true "performance first" guy!

I talked to AO Engineering about the ones they make for the C5. The engineer told me the rear C5 hat cover would fit the rear '92 C4 rotor if it had the edge trimmed slightly. But, he said the aluminum material is soooooo thin that the only way to trim it is to put it in a wax material to stiffen it and belt sand it away.
I painted the center of my rotors about a year ago with high temp paint -- it just doesn't hold up, they don't look good after a year.
My guess is the six coats of paint I put on them weighs more than the hat covers. And, since the hat covers are sandwiched between the hub and wheel with 100 lb ft of torque on the lug nuts, the heat will be pulled away easily just like the hub heat is now. The hub covers don't touch the swept area of the rotor or impede the air flow through the rotor fins.
