Vader, I just did a search of your recent threads and nothing came up. I know there was just recently a thread about this. I don't need Toms part numbers, I need the actual spicer numbers. I rather just get the parts from my local Spicer supplier, but I also want to have the numbers with me when I get there. I hate to have them order the wrong parts for me.
So again....does anyone know the actual Spicer part numbers for the U-joints. Both driveshaft and half shaft would be helpful.

Corvette Kid NC is correct. Those are the Spicer numbers you want to use. I contacted Spicer directly myself when I did my half-shafts and those are the new Spicer numbers. There are a couple of u-joints that fit the C4 Vette, but for the half-shafts the 5-800X is the heavy duty, no zerk fitting, aluminum cap unit. The SPL30-2X number may refer to the same u-joint with steel caps. Spicer recommends applying anti-seize when using the steel cap u-joints with the aluminum half-shaft of the Corvette. According to the Spicer Tech I spoke with he 5-800X was made specifically for the Corvette and does not require the use of anti-seize on the caps as they are anodized aluminum.
According to Tom's Differentials, SPL30-2X is specified for aluminum shafts. It is also cold forged and has no zerk. I don't know what is different about 5-800X, but apparently both are correct and should work.

I can't say for sure but someone here on the forum once stated that the SPL30-2X was an equivilant to the 5-800X that was recommended for the outer side of the half-shafts in extreme applications. I never could determine for sure if they were coated like the standards. BTW, if memory serves, the coating is called Endurion, or something close. And they are meant to be installed as is, with no anti-seize. I believe the caps are steel in either instance but I can check this evening to be sure.
Yes, the caps on my 5-800X are definitely steel.
