I ported mine, but never got it to the dyno . Have a time slip to go by, If this weather ever lets up, I'll be returning to post results. Hoping for a solid 2-3 tenths. Might be a bit optimistic: I'd have a hard time believing I picked up 20-30 ponies.... We'll see

Bob at precision porting does intakes too. Have him thermal coat it while you're at it.

I believe you don't need to worry about porting for a larger TB unless you're going to a 58mm or larger. Port matching and polishing the LT1 and LT4 intakes is supposed to be good for some solid HP but I haven't seen anyone post numbers from this mod by itself.

The intake & head should be port matched to GM gasket 12367777..

http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/perfpart...405&section=ep

If you go to 58mm throttle body you need to open up the intake manifold inlet to 58mm...factory is about 52..

It hasn't every been written up, but there is also mismatch at the exhaust manifold....I had my exhaust portmatched.....but long tubes is ultimately the way to go...I hope..

I couldnt believe the difference in the 77 gaskets and the intake/heads. Its all mis-matched so badly from the factory. There is ALOT of room to port and match at the top of the intake runner where the fuel injector sits. I'll bet theres a solid 1/4inch easy, maybe 5/16.
Not that I've done anything at all to mine...its stock

wow makes me wonder how much power there is to be had if the gaskets are all that badly lined up. if you threw all that portmatching of the heads, intake and intake gaskets and portmatched the intake to match a 54mm TB i am sure you would free up QUITE a bit of power especially if you had other mods done like a cam and longtubes
