Default Tint or louvers

88
Anybody know where to find some rear window louvers for an 88? Do they even made them? Wanted to tint the window if I can't find any. Any isssues with tinting, other then not letting some high school kid do it.

Thanks ~ Jeff

IMO, the louvers wouldn't look good - but it's your car, and that's cool... I always tell people to do what makes *them* happy, not us.

As for tinting, I would check over in the Pacific section and ask if there's anybody in your area who can recommend a decent tint shop. If nobody can, ask a reputable car detailer you may have seen in town, or a top of the line car audio place - they'll be sure to "know somebody". After you find the guy, just make sure you ask him what grade (brand) of film he uses, if he's ever done a C4 before, and insist on a "1-piece back window". Hope this helps a little!

IMO, tinting would look MUCH better. Or get a vert. Then you don't have to worry about any of it!!!

You can see what the tint would look like with my pic. I bought the car this way and I like it.

Good luck.

I always liked them on a '69-70 Boss 302 or any fastback Mustang of those years. Not sure how they'd look on a C4. What'd be nice would be if someone made a subtle set that went inside the glass. That way, you'd get the functional benefit without disturbing the C4's graceful lines.

I'm sorry... but louvers to me just screams 80's throwback mullet wearin, denim coat slingin', "business end in front and a party in my rear" style cues. It is your car so don't listen to me... after all I've never been accused of being smart and today isn't going to be the first day.

So you're saying it fits the C4 perfectly?

You are not the same guy who wanted to put a rear window wiper on his Vette, are you?

When I bought my 85, I thought they would look good. I bought some on ebay, yes they do make them. I laid them on the car to see what they looked like, and guess what, I threw them in the trash. I did not care if I was out a 100.00, there was no way they were going on the car. But then that is just me.

Default Louvers?

I live is South Florida and most of us have tined windows. They look good, somewhat inexpensive ($100.) for both side windows and the rear hatch and keep the car cooler in the summer and you save the interior from sun fading. There are many shades of the tint so make sure you don't go darker than your state allows.
