the aftermarket POS weatherstriping they used sucks and has horrible wind noise and will leak (i can see daylight in places). the ends and corners are HARD RUBBER, with no give. When I asked where it came from they said "thats what safelite usues". and since my insurance paid for it i doubt they will put a GM weatherstripping on it.

I just had mine replaced today on my 89. I placed the claim 1 week before Thanksgiving! My brother does auto glass for a living so he told me what to request. LOF glass with OEM molding. Originally I wanted to go through him but my insurance company turned down his quote. They told me that they could get it done for 1/3 of his estimate. What they didn't tell me that it was chinese glass and aftermarket molding. I contacted their glass provider and specified OEM molding and LOF glass. I told my insurance I would use their company if and only if they used LOF & OEM. I bet the price went up to at least what my brother quoted. They finally got what I ordered and came out today. After reading your post I'm glad I specified OEM. I would call your insurance company and complain. They specifically told me its warrantied to your satisfaction.
I looked at my receipt and the price for the GM molding was $5.00 cheaper than what they had originally quoted! I'm not saying yours will be the same but I would complain!

Good Luck!
John

atleast all you have to complain about is molding 2 years ago I replaced the windshield in my 88 3 days after they installed it I pulled the car onto the lawn to wash it and the windshield cracked right down the middle man was I pissed. so don't worry it could be worse.

Complain to the ins. co. about the quality of the work done and the parts that were used. If your with a good company they should send an adjuster to look at it. If they don't want to fix it (again) than contact your agent, and complain about the work, and the adjuster. Keep going up the chain until you get to someone who has the nutz to correct it. I know its sounds like a PITA, but remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!! Good luck, hope it gets worked out for ya!
