Did a search for this product, and it seems alot of forum members have had a good experience with this, so I'm going to try it in my '85 L98 (74K miles). But have a few questions that I couldn't find answers too:
1/3 in the gas tank ... that's easy enough to figure out
1/3 through the EGR tube? or the PCV valve? how do I do this? and is that even right?
and 1/3 into the oil... I couldn't find anyone else that actually did this. So I'm not sure if I will or not. I plan on changing oil less then 100 miles after adding the Seafoam, so I think it would be okay to add... should I just pour it into the 'Oil Fill' spot at the valve cover?

I did this .
You do it with the engine running, I poured it into the Brake Booster hose, it gets sucked thru the plenum thru the runners, and its supposed to clean everything out.
There will be allot of smoke coming out the exhaust when you do it.
Personally I would put it all (maybe two cans) in a near-empty tank of gas then find a lonely stretch of road and beat the tar out it (literally!) for a few miles. Pulling it in thru a vacuum port would have poor distribution on an L98 and if your not careful you could pull too much into a cylinder and lock it (rare but possible).
Going thru the tank would also allow the injectors to see some detergent - probably the most important part.
I do this with GM Top Engine cleaner every so often and it can really clean up a rough idle (after all the normal tune-up stuff is done).
Another thing to note is that many of these types of cleaners can be "tough" on the cat meaning if you have to pass emissions I would not run too much thru - some is ok but try not to go nuts with it. This includes the GM stuff according to some dealer mechanics I trust.
My cars have no cats so I run thru a pretty heavy dose.
and if I add any to the oil, I'd put 50 or 60 miles on it tops before changing the oil. I'm hoping that eliminates any negative effects that might occur.
