Default DeWitt radiator

I just bought a DeWitt 2-row all-aluminum radiator for my 1996 LT4. It's supposed to be an "exact replacement", but it must be a little wider than stock. Should I have a good local radiator shop do the replacement, or is it a do-it-yourself job? I have done lots of my own work on many vehicles, I'm just wondering if there something I've overlooked on this. Thanks in advance.

Do it yourself. Tom may jump in here. He explained in guywade's thread, yesterday, that the rubber mounting insulators need to be trimmed to mount the 2nd series, C4 radiators. In MY opinion, you've bought the best, where a stock radiator isn't sufficient.

RACE ON!!!

The Dewitts rocks. Needs a little coaxing to get in, but one of the best mods I did.

You sound surprised that the radiator is thicker? Most of our customers are purchasing a 2 row to "upgrade" and understand the core is going thicker. You can't double the rows without doubling the thickness.
Each A90 model (90-96) includes details instructions on exactly what needs to be done to make the radiator fit. I can send you a copy if you need another one.
The rubber cushion cutting is no big deal and it only needs to be done to the two uppers. The lowers do not need anything. This can be done with a band saw, hack saw, razor knife, etc.

The little mod is very easy and the results are awesome. No matter how hot it gets, my no-steam-hole 408 goes from thermostat temp to "fan on" temp and back, 180-187ish.

I had to trim the shroud as well on my 94 but it was well worth the trouble.
