One of my Vettes is a 93 C4 . Currently running 18,s all around. Can i put 17,s on the front and 18,s on the rear? Is this dangerous and how will it effect handeling on the road?
You can alternate sizes from front to rear with some understandings. The C5 offered an option that had the 17/18 combination. the C6 offers a 17/18 and a 18/19 combination. You can go to this web site and enter in some prospective tire sizes to compare what the differences would be.
I don't know how the handling would be affected. I know that some of the guys prefer to run a narrower tire in the front. My '89 has 275/40/17's all the way around. I will be putting C6 wheels on in the spring and they are 18" front and 19" rear.

You will be just fine. I'm running stock 17/18 Z06 wheels on my 94 and it rides and handles great. Just make sure that the overall diameter of the rear is the same or slightly bigger that the diameter of the front tires. You want a slight frontal rake. By the way I'm using 275/40/17 up front and 295/35/18 in the back.

Lots of people run stock C5 wheels on C4s, which are 17/18. If you keep the rolling diameter the same, then the primary change to handling and ride is due to the taller sidewall.
