I think what he meant was that the Corvette driver(s?) had more sense than to go that fast on a public road and wisely decided back off. (remember; in the ricer world, it's not necessarily always who has the faster car, sometimes it's who has the least intellegence)
We all know that many C4's can reach 160 and more.
yeah this is true but i have been told that many cars like TT ZXs have a very strong top end. i have a friend doing a turbo swap right now and when he is done he is predicting 11s with over 550rwhp that doesnt seem very quick to me with that much power but supposedly he will be able to cross teh traps at a very alarmind trap speed. thoughts?
Actually there Larry, it was at a racetrack.. no need to be a huge jackass.
At speed of 145 to 160 slightly modified Vettes could not hold their own against even the most lightly modified 300zxtts..sorry its true. with 1500 dollars in mods my 91 did 411 rwhp and 465 ftpds, redline was 7400 and was a top end monster..due to turbo lag, most vettes would jump off the start, but get passed at the 60ft mark on the strip..best 1/4 mile pass was a 12.00 at 115.4.. with a 1.69 short time on mickey thompsons..
not sure what the other zs where running.
dont get me wrong ive moved onto my vette, but i would hardly call this the ricer world...
If you take a seriously modified corvette with over 500hp and 7800rpm motor, in fith gear at 7200rpm should be around 210mph. There are some of the ZR1 guys that run 198mph in the Texas mile event which is only a mile long including breaking distance. If they had more distance they would easily do 200MPH++. All it takes is HP and gearing. Look at the Callaway Sledge hammer. It did 252mph with lots of HP and the right gear. I know my car will pull 200mph no problem. It plants you in your seat at 150+ when you hit the gas.

Over here in one of the ricers magazenes there is a section where ricers post pics of there speedos while they are going as fast as they can in their Renault 5 s and Ford Escorts usually about 120 / 130 MPH,
sooooo I thought I would take a pic on the rollers and send it in just to upset them they probably believe it
you got to be mad to try to go that fast on a road in a c4

That instrument cluster is off of a 90-91 TPI car.
