A 3/8" flange on the header is nice an meaty. Any thicker than that and I think you'd run into problems.

All good headers have 3/8" flanges. The cheaper ones have 1/4" or 5/16". However, I'm surprised that Pacesetters are 3/8" flanged.

i guess im a bit confused then. why do most headers advertise 5/8 or 3/4?

I think you are thinking of 1 5/8" or 1 3/4". That would be primary pipe size. That's a matter of choice, has no bearing on quality.

you are confusing flange thickness with pipe diameter - 1 5/8" or 1 3/4".

Trust me, a flange that thick would be clumsy.
