I am installing my new FMS 30# injectors in my stroker motor (1992) and come to find out the notch on the top side of the injector does not line up with the retaining clip on the rail. The notch actually lines up, but it is cut the wrong way. Being that the fuel rail bolts down tight, will this be enough to keep the injectors in place so they do not leak? I believe so, just want confirmation...if youn know please call me ASAP!!! I don't want to stop this project now for nothing...to wired up.
That's the problem, it does not fit the slot. The stock clip ingages the injector from the side, the slot os cut the opposite way, the clip will not slide into it, unless I was to turn the injector sideways which would interfere with the harness.
sounds like the injector are like the LSx injectors. The retaining clip slot does not go all the way around it. Where as the injectors for say a ford (that's what I use) do have a slot that goes all the way around.
What I would do it to make the slot continue the rest of the way around. I seen a post here not to long ago where someone put LSx injectors in their LTx motor and had to do this to make them work. Take your time and just change the groove and all will be good again.
