Default Aftermarket Ignition System Suggestions

I am in the process of finishing the rebuild of a 383 stroker, that's going to use the Holley Stealth Ram intake. Since the HSR setup requires the small cap distributor I'm looking for some ideas as to distributoir and ignition system suggestions.

I currntly have the Crane HI-6S and a GM HEI small cap distributor and GM remote coil. I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Mallory Unilite distributot with a Mallory HiFire box.

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks

I have no experience with the HyFire box, but I have heard of a number of failures in the Mallory Unilite distributor system. If it was me, I'd go with an MSD distributor and MSD6 series ignition box, or if you insist on Mallory, go with their magnetic pickup type of distributor as it appears to be more reliable.

I'm just curious, but how does the ECM handle having no spark/feedback/etc? Won't it throw codes everywhere and you have to edit-out those things from the EPROM?
