Default ZF6 reverse light switch

My reverse lights are out on my 94, and it's not the bulbs. So I am figuring that it's just the reverse light switch that is in the tranny. Is there any trick to changing the switch? Just wondering is there is some weird rod or spring that is going to shoot out of the hole when I remove the actual switch? Seems straight forward, but I hate to have to remove the tranny again to get it all back together. Any tips or advise?

No trick, but it is not cheap and you will likley have to take the slave off ot reach it.

I think if you can get a lift you can do it without dropping the slave, if your hands are not too big.

On your back I believe these guys are right.

It's not complicated, just hard to get to (what isn't)

Gumby could do it with a set of needle nose vise grips.

Get yourself an offset 7/8 in box-end wrench. That will loosen the old one, so you can pull it out. The hardest part is threading on the new one, due to the slave being soooooo close. Once it is threaded in, slip the wrench back on and give it a tug to snug it up. All done!
