Mine went out the first week that I got my vette. I knew nothing about what I needed to do at the time and had no knowledge of the forum for help, so I let a dealership do it. Hope no one else makes that $650 mistake.
Funny you should mention that. The first time I did injectors, it took me, oh, 7 hours to do. I broke parts. I cursed. I started around 10PM, and by 2AM was at the point of violence so I turned in for the night. Came back the next day and buttoned it up. Sneaking those runners back in is the hard part, if you ask me.
On the other hand, I just went out tonight and pulled the plenum/runners to send them out. It took me 25 minutes to get everything off. I think I could do injectors in about 1.5-2 hours now.

Do you have the cold start injector? That makes it even more fun. With the allen bolt kit and some special tools, i don't fret it anymore though. I need to program out that 9th injector.
To get to the water pump i believe only the fuel lines had to be disconnected to slide the a/c bracket off the left w/p bolts.
First major repair to mine and I discovered again what I learned in the Navy. I still have a very good four letter vocabulary. If I had the engineer over I would tie him to a chair and make him watch one of the religious channels for about 48 hours stright.
When I was removing the A/C / tensioner brace, I made an executive decision with the help of my friend the sawzall. I removed the part of the brace that runs under the fuel lines, so I didn't have to disconnect them. While I was studying the design of the brace, I saw no benefit to having that section of the brace. I did have to disconnect the heater hose and thread it out of the brace before I could remove the brace from the studs on the pump. Once I got it off, I put a notch in the backside, so I can just slide it over the heater hose now and zip tie it to the brace to keep it from moving. Next time will be MUCH easier to RR the pump.

I do, yeah. Maybe you can shed some light on this, as I'm going to have to pull the runners on monday - do you have a good way to get to that rear, drivers side bolt? that must've taken me a good 30 minutes with varios extensions and u-joints....
