When I did the shifter install it was really stiff moving in the little linkage box. I ended up filing it down a bit. I regret doing that now, because it is a little loose. Not bad by any means, but it is something I can tell.

I just finely got it out of the box. Don't know how just wiggled it the right way I guess. Now off to hardware store as the C clip was broken.

I guess the pin that goes through the linkage you just hammer the one end over some so it stays?

Can this be made a sticky, it is the same info for us l98 owners. it applies to the Hurst, and Core shifter design. the link posted in this post gives a good description of the entire swap with pictures.
