More Dyno Results for the TwinTurbo
Sorry I don't have the graph with me, but the numbers are as follows.
7.5psi of boost
565hp/532ft-lbs @ wheels
Since the dyno run we have added an X-pipe and the car feels to pull a bit stronger as 3rd gear will spin the tires even with a passenger in the heat of the day. We may be at 575hp@wheels and hopefully Aaron will dyno it tomorrow morning to find out how much difference the x-pipe made. The car has a slightly better sound, but is still quiet under boost. It really does drive like a bone stock ZR1 until you hit WOT.
We overlayed Waynes dyno graph for his 415 and the turbo car makes as much as 90ft-lbs more torque in the lower rpm and the 415 only peaks more hp above 6500rpm. Wayne says the car definitely feels stronger than the 415, but it is deceptive because of how quiet it is when accelerating.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the meet in BG as I have prior commitments. The car has a few things that remain to be changed or finished. We have redone the DS intercooler piping that has allowed the hood prop to work as well as the DS headlight to rotate. The ASR is now in the stock location. I will not have time to modifiy the position of the PS intercooler piping to conceal it better. It also currently interferes with the rotation of the PS headlight. We have a fix, but want to get the car ready for the BG event. Also, we did not have an opportunity to do the intercooler ducting for use with our ram air kit.
I do want to note that the car has had no overheating issues. I do realize it is not the middle of the summer, but we have not seen more than 203F while driving the car hard. We come back and let the car idle with the hood closed and the temps go down below 200F. This is very encouraging as we took a lot of effort to make the heat shields to avoid heat soak problems. I hope everyone at BG enjoys the car and hopefully we can talk Graham Beehan to drive it down the track and bust a low 11s timeslip.

Good numbers! I didn't realize you were going that high on the boost! I thought the stage I was only getting 5 or 6 psi. Can't wait to see it at BG! I'll take plenty o pics for "The Heart of the Beast".

time to bring it. anyone know if norm or paul is coming???
we need AT LEAST 2 twin turbo cars. 3 would be better and I believe
that would be a BG first.
