I have one in my 91 that the previous owner installed...It seems to have more pep in throttle response but otherwise feels about the same as my stock 91. I would like to know about the increase as well?
It will get rid of the 1-4 shift, and possibly turn the fans on sooner. I've heard that a chip wont make a huge difference on a stock motor, but you need one to take full advantage of aftermarket exhausts, intakes, etc.
It really depends on how far off your current calibration is. Therefore some will see more than others. My 93 made just over 20 rwhp from a DRM chip. I noticed a slight improvement in drivability aswell. Another bonus is getting rid of cags. I also put one on the 91 Z, although I haven't dynoed it yet. But it did seem to rev a bit quicker, and got rid of the high idle issue it had at start up.

I noticed a little more throttle response, maybe a little more torque on the low end, but I added Corsa's, air filter, just minor mods.
I got mine from a guy in Dallas, I think his name is Mark Randolf, but not sure, his price was very reasonable. Try to find him on the ZR-1 net.

-I think he richened the fuel for my new exhaust.

-Started the cooling fans sooner
-Turned on the 'eyebrow' shift light at 7000 rpm
-Shuts the engine down at 7300 rpm
-He can disable the power key function so you dont have to rember to turn it on.
yes, I am happy with the chip, seems like he only charged me like 150 -175, it was very reasonable. If you get in touch with him, he'll ask you a lot of questions and give you some choices on the parameters he burns in. It's not a get what is on the shelf kind of deal.
