Default New 1995 LT5 crate engine

We have available the last new 1995 crate engine that was purchased from GM a few years ago, and we never ended up using it.

The last new 1995 LT5 engine in the General Motors inventory system when it was purchased several years ago. It is now discontinued from GM. Serial Number 10ZUDX3070900007, it is still mounted on the shipping pallet, complete with all accessories(starter, alternator, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor),complete wiring harness, belts, flywheel, complete clutch assembly, bellhousing and throw-out arm and bearing)...everything back to thetransmission. GM did not supply and ECM with these engines, but one is available from LPE, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering in Decatur, Indiana.

Plans have changed for this project, and we're now going to a new LS7 engine, so we have no need for this LT5. We're looking to get $22,500.00

I don't have any pics, but we all know what this looks like, and I think I can be trusted when I tell you it is the real deal. It is currently in storage, and pics would be difficult, but when a deal is reached with a serious buyer, we will get it out, and send you whatever pics you like.

Please email or PM with with any questions, and I will do my best to answer them.

Thanks,
Ed

That's a LOT of money for a 11 year old (albiet new in the box never been used) engine.

In a way I hope you get it, and in another way I hope you don't.
But, anyway, good luck!

"We're looking to get $22,500.00"

Well...that's $2,500 more than I paid for my car! I think you will be retaining it for several more years!

Last time I saw a LT5 being offered for sale here from Mr Lingenfelter it was a purpose built 368 for close to 30K... I don't remember a lot of whining back then...

Why is it considered a 95 engine ? Is the ECM a 16 bit computer ?

Good luck with the sale... ( wish it was my spare motor )

I know this is a little pricey, but think about it, we bought it new from GM years ago, when these things were outragous, so we would like to get some of that back. Also, someone linked a thread to a similar motor, that sold 4 years ago for 9,500 and every poster commented on what a steal that was!

That's like going to Barret/Jackson and telling the seller of a '67 427/435 that he's asking too much because you sold one in the 70's for $5K

Don't get me wrong, I know that's a lot of money, but this engine is getting close to one of a kind status. What would it cost you to buy the 80K mile engine currently on ebay, and have it properly refreshened? then figure in the cost of the new clutch & bellhousing, new harness etc. and we're in the same ballpark.

On a side note, we also have a lot of LT5 engine parts, new and used that we would like to move as well, so anybody looking for engine parts, just let me know

Before anyone asks, NO main bearings or 4 bolt windage trays

Thanks,
Ed

Ed,

Now come on, you know you HAVE to have a thick skin coming on here posting prices, there are always people that are going to beat you up for what ever price you ask. I go through the same thing selling Lamborghini parts.
You ask as much as you want for it, 99% of the people don't either want it or will not pay what you want for it, at the end of the day, you only want one person.

On a side not, send me over a list of new parts you have, not interested in the used parts, there will soon be a flood of these on the market, so the prcies on used parts will drop for a while.

Thanks Limey,

Don't worry, I'm not offended at all, I've been a member here for a lot of years and I know how it is, I just wanted to make a point.

I believe we have a pretty complete list of the new parts that are available, but the guy here who has it is out today. When he gets back, I will get the list and shoot you a copy. I will probably start a new thread concerning the parts sales.

Thanks for all of the comments guys, we're all friends here

Ed
