Lingenfelter used to make them, but I don't know if they do any more.
I've read that the insulators can cause hood fitment issues, there's not a lot of room between the plenum and the underside of the hood. (less than .5 inch)
Do a search in the Archives for "Plenum Spacers" and "Plenum Insulators". You might be surprised at what you find.
I've got a used set (they don't wear out). They are 1/4" thick. You could stick some clay at various spots on your plenum to see how much room you have. Also require a little bending of the 1/4" vac tube on the LH side as it mounts with plenum bolts. $100 + Shipping will buy them. Let me know.
I disagree... We checked plenum temps at Spring MT last March and saw a 15 degree difference. Does it translate into more power ? Hard to say.
I heard it also makes port matching a bit easier. That could very easily make some more power if you had a 90-92 with a sloppy match from the factory.
For most people I think the insulators are going to be more trouble than they are worth. First off you may or may not have hood clearance issues (easy to check with some play-doh). You will have some PCV line fitament issues. You will need two gaskets for each side which combined with the insulator plate in the middle makes plenum reinstalls a chore. Longer plenum bolts are also advisable.
I spent a lot of time and effort making mine work. I semi-permenently attached the insulators to the plenum with small screws to avoid the multi-gasket reinstall hassle. I also carefully port matched the plates so they wouldn't disturb the intake air flow and become counter productive.
In short they are a lot of work for questionable gain.

but, but, but... a gain is still a gain !
Joking aside... thier has been at least one article in the Koth addressing port matching and it was a worthwhile mod according to the author. Port matching and a temperature drop sounds better than simply "questionable" I think we need to have a beer and discuss this further...
Good question... I had not planned on it... but... I would like to. Any ZR-1 Net activity is on the "want to do list"... So, is this an invitation ? or, did you want a warning before I get there ?
