I know of a few 1993 Ruby ZR1s owners on this forum and wonder how many of us are still out there.
Interesting question! Hey Ruby Folks check in!! We have all been reading about one that has been out for the count for a while and a damn shame for the shape its currently in. It would be great to make sure the Ruby Z folks are still kicking!
# 181 living a peaceful life in suburban NJ, interrupted by occasional blasts to the redline in 1 2 and 3. ok ok there are also some diapers and detail spray involved, what can I say. oh all right and a garage full of wax products.
enjoy shows; especially to hear the various mis-information the so-called know it alls know., about the ZR-1. I sometimes admit to having some fun with them, telling them of my all steel bodied 52 vette, and of course my split window convertable 63 big block with the rear seat, both of which were very very low production options.

Mine is #120.
I talked with the previous owner, Ed Van Scoy, yesterday and found that he ran it in the Silver State Run in Northern Nevada several years back. He averaged 150 mph and was clocked at a maximum speed of 180. The car today has 15,xxx miles on it and has won "Best Corvette" at several local show this past year. If someone can host, I will post some photos.
Happy Easter to all!!!
Here is the one Jordan used to own. I remember when he retired (the first time), the TV cameras showed him leaving after he announced his retirement and he drove away in this.
Was the VA Ruby the one that hit the tree in the guy's own front yard? It was for sale a long time ago and I missed buying it...
Cheers,
Ron
Yes it was. I went and looked at the car and posted pictures here a couple years ago. The car fired up and ran great. The guy was nice and invited me in to talk about vettes. His story was that he just got the car (2nd owner) and he wanted to take it for a quick spin around the block. Well it was a quick spin because he lost it right in front of his house and hit the neighbor's big old oak tree. The scars were still on the tree. Since he just got the car, he didn't have insurance on it so that is why he couldn't do anything with it. A couple years ago he was looking for 16K for it. The car needed a windshield, hood, pass. door, front bumper, lights and some of the supports near the radiator. The frame looked fine visually but I would have wanted a shop to check it out. The airbags deployed and I think there may have been one or two other issues. I don't know what ever happened to the car though. Somewhere back in AZ I have the vin of that car too.
