Get the boys at the dynojet to graph both scales equally - easier to compare hp and tq to me that way.

Impressive numbers btw - that much hp and tq - you're at the 402 cid with cams level of power!

When are you going to run it up to 7K rpm? Write-up for the HOTB? Next issue maybe?

Sorry if this had been answered elsewhere. But what mods (if any) were done to the motor before application of spoolers?

Any headwork (to lower CR), alky or the like?

Or was this a bone stock Z?

Engine is stock CR with ported plenum and IH's. Jeal headers w/Random CATs, run back to the hair drier's. Charge air runs forward into a front mounted IC and then into the stock TB. We ran a two bar MAP and are working on the tune.

That's all the power mods.

Cheers,
Ron

This system will be transplanted to my son's 90 next week for test fitting. We'll leave it on his car and then work on a phase II motor for mine. Plan is to lower the compression and move to a 368 (or so...) We don't want to get crazy power, just want more of a robust setup...

Cheers,
Ron

p.s. I think my son will be selling the 90' with the prototype system so if you're interested, let me know. It's a 23k mile blk/gry car.

Great project. Thanks for the effort. Would 6PSI be considered high for a stock motor, and would most people run 4PSI? Also, do you have any dyno runs before the turbos were added?

Thanks,

Ken

Ken,

This car dyno'd 346 RWHP when it was totally stock. It also dyno'd 400 RWHP with headers and a top-end port. Headers are required for this setup but the top-end port is not.

I know that Matt's single turbo ZR1 was running 8.5 psi and I think Wayne's car was up there for testing. I will only run 4-5 psi on my boy's 90' just for some comfort level... He's more of a "drive it like you stole it" type of guy...

Cheers,
Ron

Curious, why does the power flatten out on the 4psi run before 6k rpm, but keep climbing on the 6psi run?

Is it fair to assume the 4psi one would make more power if all the kinks were worked out and it was run to closer to 7k rpm?

Nice numbers either way, it's interesting how close the torque peaks are.

The graphs are a little misleading because we never really did a full out run. These are just test runs and I believe he's playing the throttle on these particular graphs. As you can see he never approached the rpm limit.

I think she will do better @ 4 PSI after the kinks are worked out. This is where I would like to run...

Cheers,
Ron
