New Track Times
Well I went back to the track today. I kept the variables identical to last week. GSD-3's, 36lbs of air and a full tank of gas. Weather was slightly warmer than last week by several degrees celcius. The other thing is the track was hooking today! Last week did a 12.44 at 116.5 mph. Today I went 12.18 @116.5 mph with a 1.8 short. Just wanted to say thanks to Jeff and Bob for their handy work on my ported plenum and IH's and thanks to Marc H for my chip! The others mods I have are headers/exhaust and 4:10 gears. My clutch was iffy today and I think If I could have feathered the clutch I could have gone even faster. I could only make 3 passes. So I'll be putting the car away now and am going to buy a new clutch for Spring. My OEM clutch is over 3 years old and has taken a beating. Any suggestions on clutches that people really like that is tough?

Care to share your launching technique, I absolutely suck on street tires.

Nice times, I ran 35PSI this time too, does the gas tank(full) help with the launch? I can't get better than a 2.06.

Outstanding times on a motor with no head work. I have found 35psi to work on my g-Force BFGs. But my best 60' was 2.2 and a trap of 115.6.
However I can't say the track was sticky. My first run, car pivoted on
2nd and 3rd gear shifts.
I'm anxious to see what happens once I port the IHs and plenum.

OK lets see....The full tank may have helped only because last week track was not sticky but this week track was hooking like a bear! I wish I had a 1/4 tank this week as the weight reduction may have helped. I'm 255lbs to boot. On my 12.1 pass I hooked a 1.8 short. With a new clutch and DR's I'm hoping to do better next year. Jeff also powder coated all my engine pieces. I was amazed at the difference porting the Plenum and IH's made. When the headers went on wow again. I also smoked the hides pretty good. I have attached a vid from last week and will post yesterdays run later today. At the end of the Video you can see me just spin through 1st and 2nd like crazy. But fun none the less. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hvBx8XWRSo

Because the video was too big my buddy couldn't mail it to me, he just posted it and I re- recorded it so I could make my video as he is away for 2 weeks. I just got my new vid's so I'll post shortly.

Mike:
With the track sticking like that, you could have gotten a 1.7 60ft(given the bog) and been precariously close to the magic 11.99 with minor mods. Impressive and Congrats!

Thanks Brian and I should have done better but I was genuinely concerned I was getting close to blowing my clutch as there is almost no material left. I am really happy that the car is performing that strong. No doubt due in great part to the headers which I got a smokin deal on
