ZR-1/LT5 Custom Car from the 90s...
okay all you gurus..
does anyone have pictures or remember the ZR-1 that was transformed into a 57 Chevy Bel Air?
I remember in the mid 90s seeing this car at Chevy Vette-fest in Chicago and I thought later in a magazine.. is was a ZR-1 that had gotten body damage and the guy built a Fiberglass Bel Air body around the complete ZR-1 C4 chassis.. I am pretty sure it was Blue with Grey interior..
Anyboby know the car I am referring to? or have pictures?
and no it is not the one the one I saw here a few weeks ago with the Chromed LT5 as I believe that one is a 55..

The owner/builder was Dren Adams from Spokane, WA. Super nice guy and also had a least one ZR-1, a 90 red car I believe. He owned a company called Inland Pacific Hose and Fittings, INC. I believe he had a cousin that lived down south some where and kept the 90 there. I met him at one of the Gatherings a few years back but saw the car at Carlisle. Dren told me that Reggie Jackson had offered him a significant amount for the car but he did not want to sell it. Just a beautiful car.

This is exactly the car I was referring to. I also met Dren at BG, probably 10? years ago, and then later saw the 57 at Carlisle. I believe it had been shown around the country. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but this was an actual steel 57. They had sliced the tops off the front fenders and welded them to the hood, making a new hood that slid forward and opened, a cool imitation of the C4 style clamshell hood. He put everything out of the ZR1 into this 57 that was possible. Steve you may recall that he built the car for his son, thus the reason for not wanting to sell.
Best regards, George

I never saw this car in person but remembered thinking it was probably the coolest "conversion" I had ever seen. (and still think that)
I also remember the workmanship was amazing, everything looked factory, it looked like GM had made it that way.
