Snake Skinner Article: 92 Sports Car Int
Bought a copy of May 1992 Sports Car international magazine on the Snake Skinner. This was the 89 prototype fitted with kevlar hood, challenge rear window, Dymags, no air/stereo/no mass back carpet, center console, etc.
Car weighed 500lbs under stock: No 2ndry TB, siam. ported intake, advanced cam timing.
Power est at 420hp(must have been at the rear wheels).
Car ran 0-60 in 3.73 seconds, Qtr in 11.83 @123
More interesting was:
0-100-0 in 12.8 seconds
With stock 6th gear and 3.90 R/E ratio car hit 188 in 5th and GM proving grounds engineer stated top speed to be in the 195-200mph range.
Interesting reading with good pics.

Sorry Jeff, don't have ability to scan, I will note that the plenum is not powder coated like the one in the photo, hood fit was less than perfect.
third brake light was in the rear bumper cover/4 gills on the side panels.
Where could I get the article scanned its about 5 pages?
Also a sale ad in the back of Mag..new 91 for sale. Sticker Cut to 46K.

Also, if it weighed 2950 lbs with 420hp, that would be the same power to weight as a 3450 lbs car with 490hp. Is a 123mph trap speed that far off for a stockish ZR-1 with 490hp?

Last time I talked to the person with car was last spring. She had car that she paid for and her ex boy toy had the title because she was dumb euff to put it in his name...she bought it for him to keep him around. Didn't work & he split. He's now in another state and the car as the pictures show suffers from total neglect! She's hurting for $$$. Very sad story that she hasn't been able to resolve. I see her every so often to help her with mechanical problems, etc. She's in Bellingham WA. Our estimates are that it'll take ~$45K to make it "right" and the car won't be worth that much although it's fully documented from the day it left BG. She and her ex boy toy both feel it's worth over $100K, and that's the basis for all their fighting. They act like they are smarter than the appraisers, B-Jackson auctions, etc, and seem to get some perverted pleasure in still trying to screw one another (not like the good days when they were "in heat" )
